Rebuilding and rejuvenating academic buildings

Rebuilding and rejuvenating academic buildings

Limited space in Gaza is creating a range of problems that require attention, solutions, funding and labour. Extreme University Makeover offers real, practical and lasting changes to the region.

Educational institutions need safe, clean and comfortable places for students to learn in; with the facilities, equipment and resources to enable young people to gain the qualifications they deserve to progress their lives.

Development is the only way of maximising the ground space in Gaza and alleviating the problems of overcrowding.

By investing in development in the occupied state, jobs will be created in construction, as well as education. What's more, better use of the worryingly limited space can be made which has a positive knock on effect for domestic overcrowding and health issues.

In more peaceful areas of the world, where the worry of aggression is not a daily concern, purpose-built buildings host and facilitate companies, small businesses, families, storage, students, books, computers; all the important things! Yet, the people of Gaza are forced to live around the fringes of bombsites, frozen in time thanks to the near-impossible prospect of bringing reconstruction and development in, with the endless bureaucracy that the occupation enforces attached to their every decision to try and improve their lives and homeland.

We are thrilled to have the support to start making these life-changing changes for the people living in the occupied state.
