Serving the Community Under Fire

Voluntarily assembled, and brimming with initiative and the feeling of being one Fakhoora family, a group of 30 Al Fakhrooa Dynamic Futures’ students, had been leading their own set of initiatives over the past two months, ranging from home visits to community activities. When the latest Israeli offensive started on July 7th, the students organized themselves into teams in order to cover the different parts of the Gaza Strip.

Steadfastness During Times of Uncertainty

Early in the morning on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, Israel launched a sustained and targeted attack against locations and people living in the Gaza Strip. Israel has pledged to increase attacks and not ruled out the possibility of a ground invasion. The campaign is being referred to as operation protective edge by the Israelis.

Al Fakhoora Celebrates First Scholarship Group Graduation

July 2013, Al Fakhoora’s Dynamic Future program celebrated the graduation of its first group of Al Fakhoora Scholars.  A group of 60 students from various local and international universities paved the path of their own dynamic futures after intensive studies and exclusive engagement in a new educational model that envisioned building community and global leaders alongside traditional education.  52 of the students graduated from local universities in a variety of specialties, while eight International Masters Students completed their degrees in different specialties and in

Meet Al Fakhoora Master's Student Rania Khalil

As part of Al Fakhoora’s Dynamic Future’s scholarship program, an average of 10 students per year are able to complete their master’s degree studies outside, often times in Europe. For most of these students stepping out from behind the blockade to experience student life in Europe is a big shock! This month we sat down with Rania Khalil Al Nahhar who recently returned to Gaza after completing her Master’s in the UK to find out what that was like!

Students hoping to enroll in graduate studies; Call for submission of applications

Al Fakhoora has begun to accept applications from Gaza based students hoping to continue their higher education in Britain.

The graduate scholarship program was launched in 2011-2012 and offers ten scholarships to students majoring in specialisations that will directly impact the development of Gaza. The first batch of graduates specialized in water and irrigation studies, development and communication and poverty reduction studies.
